How To Play Kickball
The game of kickball is quite similar to baseball, but there are a few differences. The general rule is the same; there need to be two teams, with one team standing in the field. A player from the kicker team comes to play till they are declared out, then another player from the same team takes their place. This keeps going till the kicker team has three outs. One player takes the ball and pitches it to the kicker of the other team.
Requirements
The first thing that you need to play a game of kickball is two even teams. Each team can have from 8 to 11 players. The number of players can be reduced from 8 to as many as there are present in the field. However, an equal number of players is essential. So, make sure that there should be an equal number of players on both teams. The only equipment needed to play kickball is the ball itself. Players do not need any bat or racket; just a kickball is required.
Objective
The objective of the game is to score as many points as possible before the other team. A point is scored when a player hits the ball and makes a complete run, crossing all the bases on the field without getting hit by the ball from the opponents. The major goal of the game is to kick the ball as far as possible so you can run past all bases in the field and score a point. The game consists of 6 innings. At the end of the 6 innings, the team that has made the most runs wins the game.
Scoring
As there are two teams in kickball, one team stands guard in the outfield while the other team plays. A player from the guard team is selected for pitching the ball to the player from the other team whose turn it is to kick the ball. Each player gets three turns to kick the ball, and after three turns, they are considered out, and another player takes their turn. After kicking the ball far into the field, the kicker starts running. Similar to baseball, they have to run past all three bases and make their way to the home base.
The job of the other team is to catch the ball and hit the running player with it. If they manage to hit the player before he/she reaches the home base, that player is considered out. However, if the running player reaches the home base, their team earns a point. Then another player from the team takes their place, and they kick the ball. The game has 6 innings and at the end of the 6 innings, whichever team has made the most runs wins the game.
